Best Craft Beer đș
London may be home to one of the nationâs oldest breweries, but over the last decade the city has welcomed a number of exciting new craft breweries to the scene. To whet your whistle, here are five of our favourites!
Forked River Brewing Company
Launched in 2012 after âtwo biologists and an engineer walked into a bar,â Forked River Brewing Company paved the way for many of this cityâs micro breweries and are still going strong today. If youâre a fan of big flavourâand a hint of ryeâwe suggest whetting your whistle with their Rip Tide Pale Ale. đââïž
London Brewing
One of the first Ontario breweries certified to brew organic beer just happens to be in London. Their beer also happens to be delicious. Of course, weâre talking about London Brewing, whoâve been keeping things as local as possible since they first started brewing back in 2014. Theyâre also a worker-owned cooperative, which is something weâll raise a glass to every time. đ»
Anderson Craft Ales
Many of the beers produced by breweries on this list have won awards, but itâs the gold medal winning Cream Ale from the family owned and operated Anderson Craft Ales that (rightly) gets the most attention around these parts. That said, their seasonal beersâliterally named; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winterâalso give thirsty locals something to look forward to all year round. đ±đđđ„¶
Storm Stayed Brewing Company
Located on the western edge of the Coves neighbourhood, Storm Stayed Brewing Company launched to an immediate welcome by the neighbourhood back in 2018. Since then, their taproomâwith its modern, open, interior, board games and large tablesâhas only continued to grow in its popularity as a local hangout and purveyor of fine micro-brews. đș
Beerlab!
If youâre a fan of beer, youâre going to love the constant stream of new brews flowing through Beerlab!âs seven taps. Proving small-batch brewing is a big deal, theyâve featured 100+ recipes over the years and show no signs of slowing down their experiments any time soon. đ§Ș
