Best Vegan 🌱

Finding a good burger in town isn’t that hard (stay tuned for a future list perhaps), but we’re happy to report this city’s options for Vegan fare (including “burgers”) is plentiful as well!

Plant Matter Kitchen

Located in the heart of Wortley Village, it didn’t take long for Plant Matter Kitchen to make itself a fixture of the neighbourhood’s notable restaurant scene with its great vibe and good (for you) eats. Throw a compact patio into the mix and you’ve got that vibe spilling out onto the sidewalk. Enough gushing aside, the food—like the Wortley Cobb—speaks for itself.

Odd Burger

The world’s first publicly traded Vegan fast-food chain got its start right here in London, shortly after selling out of their plant-based burger at—wait for it—Rib Fest back in 2016. Since then, Odd Burger’s industry-disrupting menu (and production facilities) have garnered a heap of press and new franchises all over the country.

V Food Spot

V Food Spot’s full menu of plant-based comfort food is enough to get them on this list, but it’s their vegan doughnuts that (rightfully) get the glory around town. That said, their Crunchwhich Deluxe’s buttermilk fried chikn with house hunny mustard, tangy slaw, pickles, crispy fried onions, and bakon mayo on a fresh bun definitely gets some love as well.

Zen Gardens

With over 50 (!) vegan and vegetarian items on the menu, it’s pretty easy to find something you’ll love at Zen Gardens. We’ve seen reviews from avowed carnivores to that effect as well. Combine that reception with the Dundas eatery’s ambience (chill) and you’re in for a relaxed meal full of flavour(s).

Udupi Dosa

Offering “cuisine for all” with a menu friendly to vegan, Jain, gluten-free and nut-free diets, London’s Udupi Dosa Indian Restuarant launched in 2021 and enjoyed enough early success to warrant a kitchen remodelling to allow for an even bigger menu!
