Best Patios 😎

In addition to Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, London’s got a fifth season we like to call “Patio Season.” For the most part, it’ll last May through October, and it’s best experienced at any one of the establishments listed here!

Barney’s

Do we even need to mention Barney’s? There’s no downtown patio as consistently packed with undergrads, post-grads and alumni than this institution—and there probably never will be.

Toboggan Brewing Company

What’s better than a craft brewery that also serves wood-fired pizza? How ‘bout a craft brewery that lets you enjoy that beer and pizza on a stellar rooftop patio? This triple threat goes by the name Toboggan Brewing Company and we couldn’t recommend the brew—or the view—more highly.

The Church Key Bistro Pub

Small in size but big on charm, The Church Key Bistro Pub offers one of the city’s coziest patios—without ever feeling cramped or claustrophobic. The shade offered by the trees flanking its south side keeps it cool all afternoon, but its proximity to the Grand Theater (across the street) also makes it an easy choice for dinner before the show, or drinks afterwards.

Fellini Koolini’s/Runt Club

Need a little downtime before (or after) a night on the town? The patios at Fellini Koolini’s and the Runt Club (who share a kitchen) are just far enough off Richmond Row to make you forget you’re actually downtown—and they’re as lively as they are cozy to boot. But don’t take our word for it: just ask anybody who’s pulled up a seat outside over the last 30 years!

Old South Village Pub

There are a number of patios in Wortley Village that could’ve made the list, but we’ve chosen Old South Village Pub for their staying power in the neighbourhood alone. The views across the street and fireplace they’ve got outside in the fall helped with our decision too!
