Fanshawe Conservation Area
Riders interested in a 20 km loop around the lake with a mix of terrain needn’t travel too far outside the city to enjoy this trail on the outskirts of the city. Note, this trail is shared with hikers, changes direction depending on the day, and “features” two low spots that can become impassable if the river’s running high—so make sure to check all postings at the trailhead for riding in.
Boler Mountain
When the skis get packed up, it’s time to hit Boler’s Mountain Bike Trails & Fitness Trails. Offering cross-country terrain for all levels of rider—from Beginner through Intermediate to Expert—they also host numerous races throughout the season for those who’d rather just watch.
The Banana Kingdom
Cycling north from Gibbons Park along the Thames Valley Parkway, you’ll find yourself on a stretch of path lovingly dubbed “The Banana Kingdom.” Legend has it the name stems from the shape of the trail when viewed from above, but most would agree it’s the brightly stencilled bananas and spray-painted greetings that keep popping up which has endeared the Kingdom to locals.
London Bicycle Café
London’s got its fair share of great bike shops, but we’re listing the London Bicycle Café here on account of their service, advocacy and fantastic people!
Orange Wheel Bike Club
A recent player to the cycling community in town, Orange Wheel Bike Club’s group rides are an absolute blast. No matter your skill level, if you’re looking for “a place to hang out and ride bikes:” this is the crew you’ll want to roll with.
