Best Selfies 🤳
Looking to up your selfie game? Here are five picture-perfect locations for your next portrait!
Blackfriars Bridge
Whether you’re posing “with” it or using the river (to the north, or south) as the backdrop, London’s Blackfriars Bridge promises to bring a dose of history and nature to your feed. Built in 1875, the historic bridge was recently removed, restored and replaced—looking as good as ever…especially with YOU on it!
Murals!
There are more than a few great murals kickin’ around town for those looking to add a splurge of colour to their feeds. Some of our favourites include: “Explore the Forest” from Alayna Hryclik and Jessica Thornton, outside the Neighbourhood Laundromat Café; Emmie Tsumura’s “Rise and Shine” on the side of Back to the Fuchsia; or the multiple artists who’ve made Artisan’s Alley (on the way to Spageddy Eddy’s—which also provides a great spot for selfies) so colourful.
Bag Lady Variety
It’s hard to picture taking a bad picture inside Bag Lady Variety. From the decor through the nostalgic knick-knacks, posters, and other wonderful kitsch, there’s something of interest in every nook and cranny of the place. Throw some big windows for natural light into the mix and your friends will marvel at the time machine you must’ve discovered. And if that wasn’t enough, their entire menu is photo-worthy as well. Trust us.
Fanshawe Conservation Area
There are a lot of “dam” cool places to pose around Fanshawe Conservation Area, but the real photo-ops are found feeding the local birds by hand. So break out the birdseed, stand super still and get ready to snap a selfie with your new best friends.
The Banana Kingdom
We get into the history of this place a bit more on our Cycling list, but of all the selfie spots on this list, none sparks as much conversation as a photo of you standing in front of the crudely spraypainted words “Long Live the Banana Kingdom” or numerous stencilled bananas along the path leading in and out of said kingdom. Just ask this guy!
